Wonderful
Wash. Post article by Everett Ehrlich in which he argues that the major political parties are Second Wave institutions driven by the information-managing processes of the industrial era. He says that the Web drives the cost of information to near-zero, which lets others (Howard Dean) mount effective campaigns without the party apparatus. If you read it, hang in there till the closing paragraph and his predictions.
